1. What Data We Process

a) Account and profile data

Display name, selected language, and selected federal state (NRW / Lower Saxony / Berlin). This data is only collected if you choose to create an account to sync your progress across devices.

b) Learning and exam data

Progress through the question catalog, marked or starred questions, mistake list, exam-simulation results, and use of the spaced-repetition feature. This data is required for the App's core functionality and is primarily stored locally on your device in offline mode. Server sync only happens if you create an account to sync progress across devices.

c) Duel data

If you take part in a knowledge duel, your display name and score are shown to other participating users. No further personal data is shared with other players.

d) Purchase data

If you make the paid unlock purchase for unlimited exam simulations, the transaction is processed via the relevant app store (Google Play / Apple App Store). We only receive confirmation of purchase status, not payment details (e.g. card numbers) — those remain solely with the app store provider.

e) Technical data

Device and app version, and crash logs if you have consented to this collection via your device settings. This data is used for troubleshooting and improving app stability.

2. Purposes of Processing and Legal Basis

• Providing the app's core functionality (learning catalog, exam simulation, progress tracking) — Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (contract performance).
• Running knowledge duels — Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent, since you actively opt into this feature).
• Processing in-app purchases — Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.
• Error analysis and app improvement — Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in a functioning, stable app).

3. Sharing with Third Parties

Data is only shared with third parties where technically necessary to provide the functions described above (e.g. app store providers for payment processing, hosting providers for optional account sync). We do not sell personal data and do not integrate any advertising networks.

4. Retention Period

Learning and progress data is retained for as long as your account exists. After account deletion, this data is deleted within a reasonable period, unless a legal retention obligation applies. Locally stored data is removed when you delete the App's data or uninstall the App.

5. Your Rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20), and objection (Art. 21) regarding your personal data. 6. Minors

The App is aimed at people preparing for the German dog-owner competency exam. It contains no content specifically directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16 without parental consent.

7. Offline Use

Most of the App's functionality works offline. In that case, your data stays solely on your device and is not transmitted to us until an internet connection is available and you actively trigger — or have consented to — synchronization.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect legal changes or changes to the App's functionality. The version available in the App at any given time is the current one. Continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised policy.
